Operation Ragnarök is now available A doomsday cult is plotting to destroy the world, and only ICON can stop them. | | Our October Patreon is full of goodies for Top Secret, and we’ve embraced the season by coloring them all in a little darkness. Nothing supernatural, but definitely disturbing. We have world books for: Romania (home of Dracula), Nýr Jötnar (a powerful doomsday cult), and ReaperNet (the new Silk Road). However, the star this month is our newest mission Operation Ragarök. Agents are sent to stop Nýr Jötnar from releasing a virus that could end the world as we know it. Intelligence indicates that it is dire and ICON has given the rare greenlight for a no holds barred mission. This is a 48-page digest-sized mission, complete with maps and NPCs. If you’re not a member yet, you should join now. At the paid level, we generally release about 50 pages of new material each month. Best of all, we give away something free nearly every month for non-paying members. For this month’s freebie, we’ve included rules that add bows (recurve, compound, and cross) to Top Secret. You know, for all those vampires in Transylvania.

| | GaelCon 37 is just days away in Dublin, Ireland. It’s October 24th – 27th. This will be the first year for Solarian Games to attend, and we can’t wait. Jayson Elliot, co-author of the newest edition of Top Secret®, will be at GaelCon running his original mission Kompromat. In Kompromat, the players are secret agents on a highly sensitive mission in Istanbul, to stop a Turkish general from being compromised by Russian intelligence. If you’re in Ireland, please come and say hi. Jayson doesn’t know anyone there yet! | | |

| Heyo folks! This week, I’d like to put a spotlight on a BackerKit I recently backed! It’s a storytelling game called The CryptID Show The game essentially emulates a call-in broadcast of Coast to Coast AM, where a player is the Host and the other players are individuals recounting their strange encounter with a cryptid! What I really like is that it’s a collaborative activity, so the host and callers evolve as the session carries on. To me, this is an interesting element for this topic since it almost emulates how stories about paranormal sightings can exchange over time as they become local legends. This clicks a lot of boxes for me, so I immediately backed it! Luckily (but unsurprising), it has already been funded, but if you’d like to jump in on the high strangeness fun, please check it out! -Bryan

Weird Heroes of Public Access 3PP New Releases! | | One of my greatest joys as WHPA’s Station Manager is collecting the original programming other Weird Heroes are producing. Let’s take a gander at a couple of new releases! KABLOOEY! Fine Nerdery’s prepares to launch a Kickstarter for a third-party supplement for WHPA, Roxie’s Rollers: Kablooey’s “Roxie’s Rollers” project tears across the cracked pavement of Fairhaven’s roller derby, skate, and BMX underground. A collision of bruised knees, bad attitudes, and raw freedom on four wheels. Told through the scattered remains of three outlaw zines, this anthology captures a living, breathing culture of rebellion and speed. Every ripped page, wild stat, and battered advert adds grit to the scene — from neon-lit derby riots to midnight park runs. Tune to match! https://youtu.be/8qli2-qqZ5g?si=XxMFIM-jlWziJJs

Now we head west for Slyboogee’s Mudpit Manor, a new 3pp campaign setting for Weird Heroes of Public Access. From Slyboogee: Mudpit Flats, just outside of Fairhaven, is where the ghost of the old west still haunts the forgotten underbelly of the suburbs. High strangeness meets the high plains. It’s a 24-page, western themed, third party campaign setting for Weird Heroes of Public Access. It is laden with mystery, conspiracy, and metaphysical shenanigans. There are strange forces in Fairhaven working to fulfill ancient prophecies. Congrats to Slyboogee on a very successful Kickstarter and release of this zine!

We funded!
We cannot thank you all enough for your support; it means the world, and it means we can bring Under the Shadow of the Noon-Day Witch to life. It’s humbling and an absolute privilege to have people like you supporting us as we create these weird bits of art and adventure, so thank you. We’re so pumped that we decided to add a stretch goal, and this one’s a killer. Once we cross the $3K threshold, we are going to bring Evangeline Gallagher aboard the project to illustrate the cover for the Hardcover Edition of Under the Shadow of the Noon-Day Witch.
Evangeline is a brilliant artist who was hand-picked by Sally Cantirino, co-writer and illustrator of this adventure, to bring the cover to life. You can check out more of their work at the link below. https://www.evangelinegallagher.com/ | | | | Speaking of Sally Cantirino, Orla! issue number 3 hits newsstands on October 22nd. |

Orla Bard is an antique restorer, romance novel enjoyer, and keen birder. She also believes in true love, continuing to navigate Seattle’s singles scene despite repeated disappointment. But Orla has a secret. She is afflicted with The Ick, a man-eating monstrous entity dwelling inside her, who violently emerges whenever she gets too angry or afraid. Unable to rid herself of this curse, Orla uses The Ick to save other women by removing the scummiest men from the dating pool…permanently. Hearts (and bodies) will be broken in this offbeat romcom/creature-feature mashup! About This Issue The Ick – the terrifying creature Orla transforms into – is unleashed at times of stress, and the longer she tries to keep it bottled in, the harder it is to hold back. But Orla is working at being a different, better person, and part of that is finally keeping her promise to attend her best friend Harriet’s Halloween party. Crowded rooms, loud music, Harriet’s emotionally abusive fiancé Josh… sounds like a stressful environment. And, weeks since it was last let loose, The Ick needs to be fed… Run, don’t walk, to your local comic shop and snag Orla! issue 3.

First-ever videogame champion, legendary programmer, and Interplay co-founder Rebecca Heineman is fundraising to deal with the costs of an aggressive cancer diagnosis. Rebecca became the first national videogame champion in 1980 when she won the Space Invaders tournament in New York. She went on to a storied career in gaming, founding Interplay, the studio that created the legendary video game The Bard’s Tale. Heineman began treatment and diagnostics following PAX West this year, and is set to start chemotherapy for cancer in her lungs and liver. Parts of Heineman’s treatment are covered by insurance, but she is also liable for overwhelming bills from out-of-network treatment. Please help in any way you can. Her GoFundMe link is below.
